Description: Snowy is a beautiful 5 y/o white/cream shepherd mix whose whole life turned upside down because of Hurricane Sandy. Her family (a couple and 2 other dogs) lost their home due to Sandy and then, tragically, the husband passed away soon after. Snowy was then surrendered to a high-kill shelter in NYC where she languished until her time was up. Hearing her story we felt that Snowy needed another chance so we pulled her from the shelter. She is safe now and she is ready for a happy ending to her sad story. Snowy takes a bit to warm up to people she does not know, so you have to go slowly and gently with her. Once she gets to know you she is sweet and affectionate. Having lived most of her life with adults we feel that a home without young children is best. Though she has lived with other dogs it sounds, from the notes that the owner left when surrendering her to the shelter, that she did not mingle with the other 2 dogs freely and was for the most part kept separate. We think that she has some asian breed in her lineage (husky? Jindo?), as she is an independent and free spirit. Though she has not displayed any dog aggression while she has been in our care or during her behavior evaluation at the shelter we think that she would do best as an only girl in a quiet adult only household. If you would like to meet Snowy please fill out our online application and address it to Katya, or email Katya at katyaedwards@hotmail.com
